Pricing FAQ

How does the per-conversation rate work?
Every conversation Belter scores counts as one evaluated conversation. Each tier includes a monthly allowance (Starter 1,000, Pro 5,000). Anything over that allowance is billed at the tier's overage rate ($0.35 on Starter, $0.30 on Pro). If you don't go over, you don't pay overage.
What counts as a "conversation"?
One chat session, one ticket thread, or one phone call. Multi-message threads count as a single conversation. Belter applies a minimum-message threshold (configurable, default 2 turns) before evaluating, so test pings don't pad the count.
Do per-agent fees apply on Free?
No. Free is $0 per month — you get 100 evaluated conversations to try the platform with as many agents as you like. When you hit the cap, you'll need to upgrade to keep scoring.
Are all features really included on every paid tier?
Yes. AI evaluation, audit, calibration, coaching, compliance, alerts, contact drivers, multi-brand, phone calls, all integrations — every core feature is in Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. The tiers differ on price-per-agent, included conversations, overage rate, and the SLA level.
How do add-on charges combine with the base tier?
Add-ons are billed separately from your tier. You pay the add-on's monthly base fee plus its per-evaluated-conversation rate — independent of your Starter/Pro overage. Training is the only add-on with no per-conversation cost.
Can I add or remove add-ons mid-month?
Yes. Add-ons are prorated by day. Switch them on for a month, off for the next, no minimum commit.
What does "bring your own OpenAI key" mean?
On Pro and Enterprise you can plug in your own OpenAI API key. AI inference cost goes to your OpenAI bill — Belter tracks token usage per-org so finance can reconcile. On Free and Starter, Belter manages the key for you (cost is included in your subscription).
Is there a discount for nonprofits or startups?
Yes — registered nonprofits and early-stage startups (under $5M ARR or pre-seed/seed) get 50% off Starter and Pro for 12 months. Email [email protected] to apply.
How does multi-brand billing work?
You pay once per organization, regardless of how many brands you run inside it. Brand-level reporting and scoping are included on every paid tier. Multiple organizations (legal entities) are billed separately.
